With over 28 years of construction industry experience, owner Josh Marquard founded Cal-Pacific Contracting with a clear mission: to deliver a better, more personalized building experience for clients seeking custom homes, high-end renovations, and expertly executed commercial spaces.
After more than two decades managing projects ranging from large-scale residential subdivisions to luxury custom estates, upscale hotel renovations, fine dining restaurants, and commercial tenant improvements, Josh recognized the need for a construction company that combined deep technical expertise with genuine client-focused service.

About Cal-Pacific Founder Josh Marquard
Josh is a third-generation builder, with his father and grandfather both being in the construction industry. Starting at age 19, Josh became directly involved in the family business, managing large-scale construction projects early on.
As the head of Cal-Pacific Contracting, Josh brings deep experience and strong leadership to every project. He is regularly on site, working closely with clients, subcontractors, and the project team to ensure excellence at every stage. His philosophy is simple: be present, stay involved, and complete every project like it’s your own. His dedication to quality and customer satisfaction sets the tone for the entire company.
In his off time, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and son on the lake and going on expedition hunting and fishing trips to remote places in search of the next new and exciting experience!
Janice Marquard
CEO
Janice Marquard serves as Chief Executive Officer, overseeing the financial management and administrative operations of the company. She is responsible for managing company finances, budgeting, and ensuring overall fiscal health, while also handling day-to-day business operations that keep projects running smoothly behind the scenes. With a strong focus on organization, accountability, and long-term stability, Janice plays a key role in supporting the company’s growth and ensuring a solid foundation for every project.
Isaiah Cave
Project Manager
Isaiah Cace serves as Project Manager, overseeing day-to-day field operations and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and to the highest standards. He coordinates with subcontractors, manages job site activities, and works closely with clients and the team to maintain quality and efficiency throughout each phase of construction. Isaiah plays a key role in delivering well-organized, successful projects from start to finish.
Valerie Thompson
Accounting & HR Management
Valerie oversees the company’s human resources and accounting functions, bringing over 18 years of experience in financial management and operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in Irvine, California, and has a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and process efficiency. Since joining Cal Pacific Contracting in 2021, Valerie has been a key part of maintaining organized, accurate, and efficient internal operations.
David Webb
Project Superintendent
Bringing over 20 years of experience with a strong background in commercial construction. His expertise includes tenant improvements, franchise ground-up projects, commercial kitchens, restaurants, and hotel construction. He oversees daily job site operations, coordinates subcontractors, and ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. With a deep understanding of complex commercial builds, he plays a key role in successfully executing demanding and detail-driven projects.
Michael Kirchner
Superintendent
Bringing over 20 years of construction experience and a strong background in carpentry. He oversees daily job site operations with a high attention to detail, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Michael coordinates subcontractors, manages schedules, and plays a key role in delivering quality results on every project.
Kyle Jensen
Project Superintendent
Bringing several years of management and in field experience through completion, Kyle has a keen ability to identify and address potential issues before they arise. His practical experience, attention to detail, and proactive approach make him a valuable asset in keeping projects running efficiently and maintaining high-quality standards throughout each phase of construction.
